Great family camping experience. It can be a lengthy walk to the beach depending on your site location. No alcohol permitted at this campground. I’m particularly fond of it as a local sleeping spot after a visit to the Getty Drive-In. Also, state park visitors to the beach area have to leave by 10pm. But camping on-site allows for time to enjoy dusk and stargazing on the beach after dark.
Love it, gorgeous views where ever you go. There are a lot of families here though, so all you can hear during the day is children screaming
A few friends and I tent-camped at PJ Hoffmaster for one night and found it quite nice. Beware the pine trees that drip sap, but it'll wash off eventually. There are many wonderful trails and a quaint little stream that run through the campground. The fire pits are nice and sturdy as well, and our electrical hookup was nice and close to the site. For the kids, there is a playground, activity field, and the campground host puts out craft activities. The bathrooms are nice and very clean. And of course, there is a wonderful Lake Michigan sand beach accessible by trail. Beautiful! :)
Was there for the day at my brother's lot. Seemed to be a really friendly and clean park. The beach was a bit of a walk, but everything else was nice.
Such a beautiful space for short-term and long-term campers with fun things to do throughout the summer, especially for children giving the adults a moment to relax! Gorgeous parks and trails for the nature lovers and athletes, an awesome playground but it would have been nice to swing and a better bathroom cleaning schedule ; ) overall fantastic I'll be back!
